Yesterday, A Beer Drinker’s Lament
(Sung to the tune of The Beatles’s song, Yesterday)

Yesterday, I used to only drink one can a day
Now, it’s up and down all the way,
Oh I believe I’ve gone astray.

Suddenly, I am twice the size I used to be,
There’s a beer gut hanging off of me,
Oh yes, it came quite suddenly.
`
(Chorus) Why it had to grow, I don’t know, I couldn’t say,
I drink all day long now I long, for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play,
Now I cannot seem to find my way
Oh I believe in yesterday.

(Chorus) Suddenly, I am half the size I used to be,
There’s a pinky hanging off of me,
Oh yes, it shrank quite suddenly.

Why it will not grow, I don’t know, I couldn’t say
I drink all day long now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, I used to only drink one can a day,
Now it’s up and down all the way,
Oh I believe I’ve gone astray.
